Bean Together: A Crop for the Future
ChildrenBean Together: A Crop for the Future is a community arts project aimed at empowering children and young people in the village of Clonoulty, Co. Tipperary to design for the future.
Bean Together centres on the design and construction of a movable, pop-up structure created with and for children. This multi-functioning space will support a child-led social hub and cultural arts space where children can explore new creative opportunities and reimagine rural spaces and community amenities for the village. The project is led by local artist and
printmaker Aoife Barrett (Print Van Go, travelling print studio), in collaboration with children and staff at Clonoulty NS and local partners, including The Source Arts Centre and project facilitator Denise Wade.
The collaborating artists include: multi-disciplinary artist and architect Aideen O’Donovan and Lucy Cran; and Bill Leslie of Leap Then Look (a UK organisation, creating innovative experiences of contemporary art with young people).
Bean Together: A Crop for the Future is funded by the Arts Council’s Children and Young People’s Arts Project Award 2026.
