Fracture Youth Theatre

Fracture Youth Theatre takes place from September to April each year. If you're between 13 and 17 years old and looking for something fun and exciting to be part of, Fracture Youth Theatre is it!

No experience necessary. We meet every Saturday, 3pm-5pm, in the Source Arts Centre, Thurles. Experienced theatre practitioners Emily Matthews and Joanne Quinn lead and direct the youth theatre.

Fracture YT is an excellent programme for young people to make new friends, develop communication skills and build confidence through theatre games and improvisation. Presenting one play each year, participants work hard together to accomplish their goals in a supportive and rewarding environment.

Cost €100
Runs Every Saturday 3pm to 5pm from September 11th 2021 – April 2022 (excluding Saturdays during school holidays)

Young Writers Hothouse 2020-

The Young Writers Hothouse is a series of workshop programme to support teenage writers.

The Hothouse looks to bring together those who are actively writing whether that is in private, a blog, school magazine or other format  - those who may be interested in having a career in writing in the future – to meet, write and share experiences with their peers.

5-10 writers aged between 15-18 years are offered places on the session which are be held at The Source Arts Centre. The workshops look at innovative and experimental ways of developing skills, that could be used and adapted by the writers when they leave the session. Writers are given writing tasks or challenges to take home and complete.

If you wish to be involved, please contact the Artistic Director, Brendan Maher via email: director@sourcearts.ie

‘Zine Project

Calling all creatives between 13-18 years of age!

Writer Sarah Maria Griffin (‘Other Words For Smoke’) will collaborate with LIVE Network and The Source this spring 2022 to realise a participatory zine project!

A zine is a small-circulation self-published work of original or appropriated texts and images, usually reproduced via a copy machine. Zines are common to sub-cultures such as the punk and Riot Grrrls movements as well as individual makers.

Sarah will share a zine she has made and participant can respond with their own zine. There will be workshops, talks and a meeting with Sarah herself to make zines at the end of the project!

If you wish to be involved, please contact the Artistic Director, Brendan Maher via email: director@sourcearts.ie
