A charming and highly entertaining show for children which follows the adventures of a red kite as it shakes off its blues and realises it's really here to fly!

This musical performance brings the blues to life for children with lots of improvisation, participation and play! Come sing away your blues with the Red Kite and friends, jazz singer Emilie Conway, Barry Donohue on double bass and Dominic Mullan on drums.

The Red Kite's Blues was inspired by The Smashing Red Kite, the debut children's novel by author Ann Lorraine Mack.

Created for Fun-Size Jazz; a partnership program between the Ark, Children's Cultural Centre and the Improvised Music Company. Also presented at Dalkey Creates, BIG BANG Dublin presented by The Ark at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios, Cruínniú na nÓg, Still Loading, The Ark, Galway Jazz Festival, Mick Lally Theatre and Ranelagh Arts Festival.
