Over the past summer, Photographer Layla Tobin documented a local teenage disco in Hayes Hotel- a staple of young people’s social lives in Thurles and North Tipperary. She photographed their preparation for their night out: the excitement of the disco itself; and as they return home.
Shot in 35mm film - analogue format - and on digital, the images reflect the changes in young peoples lives in the recent past, the ubiquitous phone - but also the staples of make-up and clothing, dancing and the joy of meeting up.
