Macbeth, a brave Scottish general, is tempted by a prophecy to murder his king and claim the crown. His ruthless ambition leads him deeper into violence, betrayal, and paranoia. Lady Macbeth, once his driving force, feels the heavy weight of guilt. Unchecked ambition and moral corruption collide in Shakespeare's classic play.

Award-winning Red ‘n Blue Theatre Company brings a powerful new production of Macbeth to The Source Arts Centre. This promises to be a dynamic theatrical experience and an invaluable opportunity for students preparing for the Leaving Certificate.

Duration: Approx. 2 hours (including a short interval) I One complimentary teacher ticket per 20 students

Founded by husband-and-wife duo Dylan Kennedy and Jenny Fennessy, Red ‘n Blue Theatre has established a reputation for high-quality, emotionally resonant productions. The founders have worked with leading institutions including the Royal Shakespeare Company, The Abbey Theatre, The National Theatre UK, The Barbican, BBC, Channel 4, and RTÉ.

Their debut production, LOVESONG, sold out 16 performances across Cork, Waterford, and Dublin, receiving five nominations at the Waterford News & Star Green Room Awards, including Outstanding Event of the Year and Best Play, and winning Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress.

Their second production, THE FLAGS, earned six nominations and won Best Play of the Year 2022, Best Set, and Best Supporting Actress.

Their most recent production, TABOO was performed in Thurles, Cork, Waterford and Dublin. It was nominated for Best Play of the Year, Best Director, and Best Actress, and won Best Supporting Actor.
