VERTIGO : Source Summer Youth Project
ChildrenThe Source Summer Youth Project is back!
Are you afraid of heights?
Or do you get a bit uncomfortable when you see a black cat. Or a spider? Maybe even when you step outside the door, you get that sinking feeling!
This year's Project looks at the idea of fear and anxiety – the rational and irrational fears and how they might control us or we control them. And how we depict them in Art.
We will look at key artworks - Alfred Hitchcock’s classic film Vertigo - a fear of heights and falling (or maybe something else) - and Louise Bourgeois’ artwork ‘Maman’ - a large scale sculpture of a spider, which rather than being a figure of fear was a protective creature for the Artist.
