Featuring evocative projected images alongside thought-provoking spoken word, Edel Murphy and a live band perform iconic songs of struggle and celebration from such greats as Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, Nina Simone, Kate Bush, Nanci Griffith, Richard Thompson, Dolly Parton
and The Beatles. Motherland brings you through the Dustbowl of the Great Depression into the homes of 1950’s urban desperation, down streets of protest in the 1960’s and into the confusion of 21st century. Following extensive tours with Grammy winning shows ‘Celtic Woman’ and ‘Riverdance’, Edel Murphy (singer, actor, musician) is delighted to bring this powerful production on tour under the musical direction of her long-time collaborator, Ewan Cowley.
