7.30pm & 8.30pm
The Iseli-Chiodi Dance Company and The Source Arts Centre present a durational dance performance on the boardwalk of the Centre for Culture Night 2020.
Using the boardwalk as a viewing area, the audience witness a work behind glass, as three women gather behind the panels of the theatre hall. Pushed out of their life’s orbit they slow down to rebuild their steps with unbreachable confidence. Orbiting like wandering stars? Heroines of no novel? Bewildered animals? Unique and universal, they randomly intersect at the crossroad of past images and projected futures. They trace their way, swirling behind the glass window like the dolls of ancient automatons; or sit in loneliness in the slanted light, like the characters of a Hopper painting.
The creation and performance of this work is a Culture Night commission by Tipperary County Council Arts Office supported by Tipperary Dance Platform with funding from the Arts Council Dance Artists in Residency scheme. Iseli-Chiodi dance company is resident company at the Tipperary Excel Arts Centre since 2008 and funded by the Arts Council Dance Artist in Residency scheme, by Tipperary Excel Arts Centre and Tipperary County Council. With the support of Tig Roy. Many thanks to Roy Galvin.
