Since the release of her debut album ‘Sea Sew’, Lisa Hannigan has toured the world and collaborated with artists as diverse as Ray LaMontagne, Richard Hawley, Herbie Hancock, Glen Hansard and Aaron Dessner. ‘Sea Sew’ went double platinum, was nominated for the Choice Music Prize and the Mercury Prize in the UK, and saw Lisa play bewitching guest spots on the likes of ‘Later…With Jools Holland’, ‘The Late Late Show’, ‘The Tonight Show With Jay Leno’ and ‘The Colbert Report’. Lisa’s sophomore album, ‘Passenger’, released in October 2011, went straight in at Number 1 on its first week of release and earned Lisa yet another Choice Music Prize nomination.
Her 2016 release ‘At Swim’ went to number 1 in Ireland and entered the Top 30 album charts in the UK, her highest placing so far. Hot Press described it as “her greatest work to date” and the Evening Standard suggested “It could well be the most beautiful album of the year.” Recorded in a church in Hudson, New York and produced by Aaron Dressner of The National, the album charts darker depths than previous material, but it's also – profoundly and very movingly – about love.
