‘Homeland’, an exhibition of video works has taken place in Damer House Gallery, Roscrea every year since 2014 for two weeks, and is presented in collaboration with the Loop Festival Barcelona and Safia Art Contemporani – Barcelona, Catalunya, Spain. The theme this year is ‘Borderline’ and looks at the notion of borders as boundaries, separation, a dividing line or indeed the borderline between friendship and love. The delineated spaces have become even more problematic and uncertain due to Covid19
In the show we experience moving images that deal with isolation, the invisible and visible and the life and death experiences of the individual artists
Homeland is at the forefront of a thriving cluster of artists / filmmakers in the Irish Midlands. This growing phenomenon is hampered by the lack of suitable venues, where art-film can be shown and disseminated to discerning audiences. Damer House Gallery is presenting the thematic ‘Borderline’ in The Source Arts Centre and online with Nenagh Arts Centre, Co Tipperary and in collaboration with ‘Loop Festival 2020’ Barcelona, Cage Gallery Barcelona.
