Dir. Sebastián Lelio, Chile, 2017, 104 min
Marina (Daniela Vega) is in a very happy relationship with an older man Orlando (Francisco Reyes) a handsome, silver-haired, divorced guy in his 50’s. In the middle of the night, after an indulgent romantic meal, Orlando wakes up next to Marina, desperately ill.
This event suddenly brings all the conformism and cruelty of society into vivid focus. It was there all along of course, as Marina is transgender, but it didn’t matter as her relationship with Orlando protected her. Now at a single stroke, Marina’s whole existence is thrown into doubt.
