Thurles Halloween Arts Festival presents
Nik Kershaw
The hugely celebrated British musician, Nik Kershaw, comes for one night only to Thurles as part of his much awaited solo acoustic tour.
He moved from shop assistant to international star with hit singles I Won’t let the Sun Go Down on Me (1983 and re-released in 1984, No 2 in the UK Top 20) and Wouldn’t it be Good (1984, No. 4 in the UK Top 20) with MCA. His first album, Human Racing (1984) went platinum, and what is probably his most famous song, Wouldn’t it be Good sent Kershaw worldwide.
The 90s saw him writing for/with, amongst others: Chesney Hawkes (The One and Only from the British film Buddy’s Song), Cliff Richard, Bonnie Tyler, Lulu, Ronan Keating, Jason Donovan, The Hollies, Imogen Heap, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Darius, Gary Barlow and Let Loose.
