Game's Over/ The Source Youth Outreach Project
Every summer The Source Arts Centre opens its doors to young people with a week long outreach project. Welcoming young people to explore their creativity and have a celebrated voice for themselves, previous years have seen the teenage bedroom, public spaces for young people and advertising logos explored through the group’s own text, music, performance and design.
Summer 2009 sees a special week focusing on the creativity and design of computer games, in a special project with the Tipperary Institute, and inspired by the Gallery installation, The Art of the Computer Game.
Workshop participants will have the opportunity to be involved in a one day hands-on computer games development at the Tipperary Institute Games Development Laboratory. During this workshop participants will be exposed to the science behind computer games development and the technology used in creating game art, audio and programming games. Participants will be brought through a complete games design and development life cycle, with selected games forming part of the Gallery exhibition.
