Get Involved

Talks & Workshops

The Source Arts Centre aims to involve people of all ages as much as possible in the events and life of the centre. Ways to get involved will be posted here as they come up and advertised in the local press.

Summer Youth Workshop....

Monday 20th – Saturday 25th July

10am – 5pm daily

Plus one additional workshop on Monday 29th June

The Source Youth Arts Programme is back with Game’s Over!

Three years since we launched the programme, and three successful summers! After Doors to Elsewhere (2006), ourspace.com (2007) and T-shockology (2008), we’re back with a week’s summer camp working with young people aged between 11 and 17 years.

This summer’s workshop will see a new and exciting collaboration with Tipperary Institute inspired by the Gallery installation, The Art of the Computer Game.

So if you want to:

·         learn how to design a computer game

·         create images that become part of the game

·         make music or a sound score

·         design costumes

·         write a story and create characters

·         perform in a live, interactive computer game

then give us a call!

Everyone taking part will have the opportunity to be involved in a one day hands-on computer games development at Tipperary Institute Games Development Laboratory. You’ll get to learn about the science behind computer games development and then have the chance to create that live in the theatre at The Source!

Game’s Over is led by Tony Fegan, Director of Tallaght Community Arts Centre and ex-Director of Learning, London International Festival of Theatre and Phil Bourke, ICT Programme Specialist &Programme Coordinator at Tipperary Institute’s Degree in Games Design and Development, working with local liaison artist, Rona Sorrell.

Please call Rona on 0504 90340 if you would like to be involved. Places are strictly limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
