10am to 5pm (later on performance evenings)
‘Lines Tell Lies’ is a solo exhibition by Marie Hanlon, presenting small sculptures, wall works and a moving image piece. Here familiar things become slightly skewed, scale is distorted and associations are proposed. The viewer is required to draw close, to engage with subtle transformations and find in the familiar that which is playful and intriguing. The impetus for the new works arose from a previous piece called ‘Cornerspace’, comprising thirty-nine stills in a moving sequence. Lines deceive the eye, reality blurs into fiction and all is not what it seems. ‘Cornerspace’ will form part of the exhibition.
Official Opening Friday 08 September at 7.30pm. All welcome.
