Dave Rudden is the author of ‘Knights of the Borrowed Dark’ and ‘The Forever Court’, the first two novels in a new trilogy about a secret war between a race of shapeshifting, misery-eating, occasionally-waistcoat-wearing monsters and the warriors sworn to stop them. And then there’s thirteen-year-old Denizen Hardwick, who’d quite like everyone to slow down and explain what exactly is happening and why can’t he just be left alone with a book. He’s read books where thirteen-year olds have to do things. It never ends well for anybody.
‘Knights of the Borrowed Dark’ was the winner of the Specsavers’ Senior Children’s Book of the Year Award 2016, the Most Read Award at the School Library Association Great Reads Awards and is the UNESCO Dublin City of Literature’s Citywide Read 2017. Dave enjoys keeping pens in his beard and being cruel to fictional children.
